A local charity has received thousands of pounds in funding to provided services for people who have post-traumatic stress disorder.
The Big lottery Fund gave charity Southend Mind £300,000 to provide counselling services, after former soldiers from the area were struggling with everyday life.
The service which will be available across Southend, Rochford and Castle Point will provide 11 sessions of counselling for anyone who is suffering from physical and mental problems after a major life trauma.
The service will begin over the coming months.
